After Grošelj Živa Ant. 5, 111 f. to λεῖος, λιτός etc. with θ-suffix; comparable Scheftelowitz Festgabe H. Jacobi (Bonn 1926) 28: to Lith. slidùs `smooth'. Words for `stone' etc. are often taken from a substratum.
